So you might ask, where have I been? We are at the last quarter of the year and there are crickets over here. I promised myself I would not beat myself up over it. I let life get in the way and don’t want to make any more excuses. There have been some major advances in the works. My son and I co-founded a peer-to-peer tutoring app called YTeach. This was a big deal for us. A bit of background, my son came up with the concept at 11 years old based on my asking the question which actually started this blog going, which was “What did you do to help someone today?” Well, one day he comes and says that he came up with an idea to help a lot of people every day. From there, Yteach was born. Personally, this has felt like a big risk, not just economically but personally. The app is already being used by a school and we are making contacts to expand to other schools hopefully by the Fall. It was also selected by StartUp FIU to participate as an early startup business. And just a few months ago we were selected as a Top 10 Early Stage StartUp at eMerge Americas, which is an international tech conference that attracts over 16,000 people from all over the world. It has been an incredible experience and we hope the app will help serve kids from all over to reach their potential. I am getting my feet wet in this world of entrepreneurship and I guess it goes to show that you are never too old, or too young, to be an entrepreneur.
